Entrepreneurs create 1,126 Macau companies in Q1

The number of companies newly incorporated in Macau in the first quarter of this year was 1,126, or 138 more than a year earlier, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service says most are in wholesaling, retailing or business services.

The combined registered capital of the companies newly incorporated was MOP191 million (US$23.92 million), 23.7 percent more than a year earlier.

The number of companies wound up in the first quarter was 155, or 26 more than a year earlier.

The combined registered capital of companies wound up was MOP28 million, 84.9 percent less than a year earlier.
