Mainland–Macau trade drops

Trade between the Chinese mainland and Macau decreased by 16.5 percent year-on-year to total USD480 million during the first two months of the year, the Ministry of Commerce said yesterday.
According to figures released by the ministry, the mainland’s exports to Macau dropped 5.7 percent year-
on-year to USD440 million during the Jan–Feb period. Macau’s exports to the mainland totaled USD40 million, a decrease of 63.8 percent year-on-year.
In February, the mainland’s trade with Macau decreased by 34.4 percent year on year to USD190 million.
The mainland’s exports to Macau in February dropped 33.5 percent from the previous month to USD170 million. MSAR exports to the mainland totaled USD10 million, a decrease of 43.5 percent month-on-month, the figures showed.
