Sands China predicts good year after strong start

Sands China Ltd expects its casino business in Macau to keep growing this year.

Sands China chief executive Edward Tracy said the year had started strongly and the Lunar New Year holidays were a successful period.

In the first 16 days of this month Sands China’s share of the Macau casino gaming market was 25.8 percent. Its share was 21.8 percent in fourth quarter of last year.

The company reported adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of US$2.9 billion (MOP23.17 billion) for last year, 46.7 percent more than in 2012.
