Secretary for Economy and Finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen has said economic growth will be steady this year, propelled by further but slower growth in gaming revenue.

Mr Tam said growth in gaming revenue would slow this year to a “low double-digit” percentage.

He expects the annual inflation rate to be steady at 5 percent or 6 percent.

Mr Tam dismissed worry that slower economic growth in the mainland and uncertainty about the global economy will hurt Macau.

The government had no intention of changing labour policy this year, he said.
