The Monetary Authority of Macau forecasts that gross domestic product will sustain its present rate of growth this year.
The authority did not offer a growth projection, but said it expected growth to slow down in the second half.
In the first nine months of last year GDP increased by 10.5 percent in real terms from a year earlier. The full-year figure is due to be released in March.
In yesterday’s Monetary and Financial Stability Review, the authority says consumer price inflation will remain above 5 percent this year and unemployment below 2 percent.
The authority says uncertainty lingers in the real estate market because prices have risen steeply and “correspondingly, their associated risks have been heightening”.
