Price of parking spaces forecast to rise 20 pct

Estate agents forecast that the average price of a car parking space will rise by up to 20 percent this year, our sister publication Business Daily reports.

The newspaper quotes CarparKing Co Ltd general manager Chan Lik Ki as saying: “The price will go up between 10 percent and 20 percent from last year.”

CarparKing expects a slight increase in sales of parking spaces this year, because from November the sale of spaces bought two years earlier will no longer be hampered by the special stamp duty.

CarparKing’s records indicate that the average price of a car parking space rose by 75 percent last year.

Jennifer Un, district director of Ricacorp (Macau) Properties Ltd, forecast rises in car park space property values of “some 10 percent” this year.
