Minimum wage to begin legislative process

The Secretary for Economy and Finance Francis Tam revealed that the basic drafting of the bill of minimum wage for security personnel and cleaners working for property management companies has finished. He expects that the government will introduce the draft to the Standing Committee for the Coordination of Social Affairs and begin the legislative process. The Secretary insisted that the government doesn’t have standpoint regarding the policy and thinks that the recently released consultation report has objectively reflected the consultation process. Now that the preliminary drafting is finished, the government will tell the Standing Committee of its views on the minimum wage level.
