Three exhibitions will join together at the beginning of November to showcase automobiles, yachts and business jets.
The tri-expo is scheduled to take place from November 1–3, under the theme, “China Macau Distinguished Gathering”. The Convention Centre of the Venetian Macao, the Macau International Airport and the Macau Green Island Yacht Club will be the venues hosting these exhibitions.
The 2013 China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition will witness a 10 percent increase in the number of participating countries and regions as well as car brands, according to Lei Chi Chong, head of Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, one of the organizers. The Auto Show this year will be joined by nearly 60 automobile brands, more than 400 vehicles and 100 automobile service providers from 15 countries and regions.
According to the survey findings about the Macau Auto Show made by the Macau Economic Association, the average spending per visitor at the 2012 Auto Show was MOP16,372.5. Organizers expect that this year’s show will attract 160,000 visitors.
The China (Macau) International Yacht Import and Export Fair will be divided into a “Dry Show” and a “Water Show” this year, with the former taking place in the Venetian Macao and the latter at the Macau Green Island Yacht Club. Lei said in a press conference yesterday that the size of the venue has doubled. Nearly 50 brands will join the yachts expo. Exhibitors are coming from the U.K., the U.S., Sweden, Greece and the mainland. Besides the expo, organizers said there would also be a photography expo, yacht trip, and dinner party, among other activities.
Macau Business Aviation Exhibition (MBAE) will take place at the south wing of the parking ground in the Macau International Airport. The number of business jets showcased has been increased from 11 to 16 this year.
The shows are jointly organized by Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, China Aviation Supplies Import and Export Group Corporation, and China National Machinery Industry Corporation.
Association President Lei said that the expos are targeting high-end customers. He said that past tri-shows had also boosted business in hotels and malls. GY
