Macau received 107,230 visitors during the four-day Easter holiday ending on Monday representing a 2.27 percent increase in comparison with last year, while around 116,000 local residents left the city during the same period to spend the holiday outside Macau. According to police statistics, some 490,976 people entered the city and 503,041 people left Macau through the seven ports. But tourist arrivals accounted for only about ten percent of the total number of travellers. The Border Gate continued to be the major port for incoming and outgoing travellers, while Hengqin and the Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal were the other busy ports.  For outbound Macau residents, the authority put the figure at around 116,000 people, most of them holiday-makers venturing outside Macau to spend the four-day break.
